This lake is the second largest of the Great Lakes, making it the fifth largest freshwater lake in the world.

Bordered by: state of Michigan and province of Ontario, Canada
Also, Lake Huron is joined to Lake Michigan by the Straits of Mackinaw and is therefore hydrologically inseparable from it.

Shoreline: nearly 3,200 miles that is mostly wilderness

Dimensions: 206 miles long and 183 miles wide

Special Features: Has largest island in any lake in the world, Grand Manitoulin (1,223 sq. miles);

Contains the Georgian Bay, a bay that is so large that it is nicknamed "the Sixth Great Lake".
