This heart-shaped lake is the smallest lake in the Great Lakes system.

Bordered by: state of Michigan and province of Ontario

Dimensions: 26 miles long and 24 miles wide

Surface Area: 670 square miles

Feet above sea level: between 570-579 feet

Flushing Time: 5 - 7 days

Greatest Depth: 27 foot dredged navigation channel

Average Natural Depth: 10 feet

Special Features: This lake along with the St. Clair River and the Detroit River forms the 90 mile stretch between Lake Huron and Lake Erie.
