Chippewa Hills School District voters will consider a bond proposal on the May 5, 2026 ballot focused on maintaining safe, functional school facilities and addressing building needs across the district.
The proposal is the same bond proposal that appeared on the ballot last fall. The district’s facility needs have not changed, and the proposal continues to focus on improving safety, maintaining our facilities, and supporting the spaces where students learn and participate each day. We remain committed to providing clear information so community members can review the proposal and make an informed decision.
The proposal is structured as a zero mill increase, meaning it would not increase the current tax rate for property owners. The tax rate would remain at 2.41 mills, one of the lowest school debt millage rates in the area.
To help families and community members learn more about the proposal, the district has created a bond information page where families and community members can review details about the proposal and the projects being considered.
The district will also host several Community Bond Town Halls where residents can learn more and ask questions.
Community Bond Town Halls
Tuesday, March 10 — 6:30 PM at Barryton Elementary
Tuesday, March 17 — 6:30 PM at Mecosta Elementary
Tuesday, March 24 — 6:30 PM at Weidman Elementary

Community members are encouraged to review the information and attend a Town Hall if they would like to learn more.
