Let’s come together as Warrior Nation to celebrate strength, courage, and hope!

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 16th.
Picture order forms will be coming home with students this week—be sure to check those backpacks!

The state budget has not yet been finalized. While we wait for a decision, all students will continue to receive free breakfast and lunch.
We will share updates as soon as we know more. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

We've heard lots of questions about the need for an auxiliary gym. If you've spent time around our high school and middle school athletics programs—especially in winter—you know our teams often start practice in the early morning and finish as late as 9 PM. Our cheer teams even have to use the cafeteria for practice space. Simply put, we don’t have enough gym space to meet every team’s needs.
In this short video, Bond Co-Chair Larry Jose explains why an auxiliary gym with a walking track and dedicated wrestling room is such an important part of the 2025 bond proposal.

We’ve heard some questions and concerns about the upcoming 2025 bond proposal, so we wanted to clear the air. Here’s a quick look at a few common myths—and the facts you need to know.
❌ Myth #1: This bond will raise my taxes.
✅ Fact: Not true! The bond is a zero mill increase, which means the tax rate will stay at 2.41 mills—still one of the lowest in the area. The way our current debt is structured allows us to address important facility needs without increasing your tax rate.
❌ Myth #2: Rising property values mean I’ll pay more.
✅ Fact: Property values are set by your local government, NOT the school district. While adjusted property values can change the dollar amount you pay per mill, the bond itself does not increase the tax rate.
❌ Myth #3: The district can use bond money for anything it wants.
✅ Fact: By law, bond funds must be used strictly for facilities and infrastructure, not for salaries or operating expenses. This includes:
• Renovating classrooms and updating HVAC systems
• Improving safety and security, like secure entrances, updated locks, and modern fire alarms
• Expanding gym and community spaces
We hope this clears up some of the confusion! The 2025 bond proposal is about making our schools safe, modern, and welcoming spaces for students while also providing community benefits.

This November, Chippewa Hills voters will decide on a bond proposal that addresses some of our district’s most pressing needs. With nearly 1,800 students learning in buildings that range from modern spaces to schools built in the 1930s, it’s time to ensure our facilities reflect the needs of today’s learners and tomorrow’s opportunities.
The bond proposal focuses on three key areas:
✅ Safety & Security – Updated entrances, secure learning spaces, and improved emergency systems.
✅ Facility Upgrades – Repairing and modernizing aging buildings to provide safe, reliable learning spaces.
✅ Community Space – Expanding gym space so students don’t have to practice late into the evening, while also creating facilities the whole community can use.
This is a responsible investment in our children, our schools, and the future of Chippewa Hills—without raising the current tax rate. The proposal maintains the levy at 2.41 mills, one of the lowest rates in the area.
📅 Election Day is November 4.

Last week we shared that all students would receive free breakfast and lunch for the full school year. We’ve since learned that this funding is currently only guaranteed through September 30, 2025.
Until then, every Warrior will enjoy free breakfast and lunch at school. After September 30, the state legislature will determine whether funding for meals will continue.
To prepare for any outcome, we strongly urge families to complete and return the Child Nutrition and Benefits Application (linked on our website here: https://aptg.co/z4Xjx_). This helps determine if your child qualifies for free or reduced-price meals and also provides important support for school funding.
Families are also encouraged to contact their legislators and share how important this program is for students.
Thank you for your understanding as we work to keep you updated with the most accurate information.
