It’s RACE DAY!
Cross Country kicks off the 2024 season today with the Early Season Warrior Invitational! 16 schools will be competing this morning at the Chippewa Hills Cross Country Course, located at the corner of M-66 and Arthur Road.
The boys race starts at 10:00 AM, followed by the girls race at 10:45 AM. At 11:30 the public is welcome to participate in an open 5K run and kids 700m fun run!

Exciting news! All Chippewa Hills students will now get FREE ADMISSION at all home athletics events!
Middle School and High School students must show their student ID. All students ages 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

The High School fall sports season starts Monday! As a reminder, all athletes MUST have a current physical BEFORE they can join their team for practice.
Here are the practice times for our fall teams:
*Cross Country: Practice begins Monday at 7 PM at the cross country course.
*Football: Equipment issue is on Sunday with Varsity at 4 PM and JV at 4:30 PM. Practice begins Monday at 5 PM.
*Girls Golf: Practice begins Monday at 9:30 AM at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids.
*Volleyball: Tryouts are Monday-Wednesday, starting at 5 PM. Practices will begin Thursday, time TBD.

Have you gotten your sports physicals yet? The Chippewa Hills Wellness Center has limited availability for physicals before the fall sports season kickoff on August 12. There are a few appointments available yet this week, but you will need to book quickly. Please call 989-697-2290 to schedule your appointment!
Schedule your child’s sports physical ASAP at the Chippewa Hills Wellness Center! The fall sports season kicks off August 12 and all athletes must have a completed physical BEFORE they can begin practice. The CHWC gets VERY busy right before the start of season and August appointment availability is already limited. The Wellness Center’s team is encouraging parents to schedule sports physicals during July to help alleviate the August rush.

The Warrior Golf Team ended up in 7th place at the State Finals at Ferris State University! Best finish in school history!
Cameron Morgan ended up 8th, earning All-State Honors!

Representing the Warriors are: Cameron Morgan, Brandon Slasor, Dylan Boerma, Marcus Barnes, Bode McArthur, and Tristan Maneke.

Just to clear a few things up regarding the youth basketball camp at the end of July. It is only for girls. There was a form that was accidentally sent that wasn't supposed to have gone out. The youth camp at the end of July is for girls. We apologize for any confusion.

Our Spring Sports Banquet is Thursday, June 6 at 5:30 PM in the Middle School Gym. All spring season high school athletes and their families are invited and encouraged to attend.
The banquet will begin with a catered dinner and an opening session in the gym. From there, each individual sport will head to separate breakout sessions throughout the building.

Congratulations to our Warrior Athletes of the Week, Matthew Brownell and Ella Palmer!
Matthew is a member of the boys Varsity Track team and reached is final goal of his high school running career that he has been working so hard for. He was the lone state qualifier for the boys track team in the 800 meter run.
Ella is on the girls Soccer team and achieved her first hat trick of the season (three goals in one game) against Kent City!

This week’s Middle School Athletes of the Week are Sawyer Chapman and Peyton Nellis!
Last week Sawyer broke the school record in the shot put by throwing 47 feet 4 inches. Just yesterday he broke the record again with a throw of 49 feet 9 inches!
Peyton broke the school record in the 400m dash with a time of 1:01.7! She is also a dominant force in the 200m dash, the 4x200m relay, and 4x400m relay.
Congratulations, Sawyer and Peyton! You both are crushing it this season!
Congratulations to Brock PeLong who was selected to play as a defensive tackle in the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association East vs West All-Star Game! The game will be on Saturday, June 22 at 1 PM at Lawrence Technological University!
