🌟 Introducing CHHS Students of the Month! 🌟
We’re excited to launch a new tradition this year at CHHS—honoring our Students of the Month! Each month, teachers will nominate students who stand out for their character, leadership, hard work, and Warrior spirit.
Join us in congratulating our Students of the Month for September!
🔹 Hayven Hampel: Hayven is a 9th grader who plays softball and basketball, is a member of Student Council, and is a Freshman Class Officer. Hayven was chosen by her teachers for always being helpful to her peers during classes.
🔹 Nicole Dagley: Nicole is a 10th grader who is a member of Student Council, a sophomore class officer, and plays volleyball, basketball, and runs track. She was chosen for doing great in her classes and Warrior Time. She brings an infectious positive attitude into every room.
🔹 Macy Cornell: Macy is an 11th grader who runs track and plays volleyball and basketball. She is a member of National Honor Society, FFA, and MCYAC. Macy was chosen because she is hard working, kind, takes initiative, and puts in great effort.
🔹 Natalie Clark: Natalie is a 12th grader who plays soccer and is a member of National Honor Society. She was selected by her teachers for being a great Warrior! She comes to Warrior Time daily even though she has dual enrollment and is always helpful to her classmates.
Congratulations, Warriors!

Every Friday, we show our Warrior spirit loud and proud! Wear your Warriors gear or school colors and help turn our hallways into a sea of red and blue.
Let’s fill our schools and community with Warrior Pride this Friday and every Friday—because once a Warrior, always a Warrior! 💪

Our Warrior community pauses today to remember September 11, 2001, and honor those we lost. May we never forget, and may we continue to choose unity, compassion, and hope. ❤️🤍💙

In Mr. Shephard’s Life After High School class, students don’t just talk about real-world skills—they practice them. Last week, the class rolled up their sleeves for a lesson on how to do an oil change, led by senior Paul Webster. 🙌
Practical, hands-on learning that gets our Warriors ready for life beyond CHHS! 💙❤️

This new series will celebrate our CHHS students who are doing great things—whether it’s acts of kindness, accomplishments, or moments that show true Warrior Pride.
Our first Wonderful Warrior is Junior, Kyle Johansen!
At Thursday’s football game, a young fan fell in the bleachers and hit her head. Without hesitation, Kyle jumped in to help — checking to make sure she was okay, gathering her things, and helping her sit back up. His quick response and genuine care made a big difference for this 10-year-old and her family. 👏
Kyle, thank you for being a Wonderful Warrior and showing us what Warrior Pride is all about! 💙❤️

This year, 29 students are part of our high school's brand-new Drones class—a hands-on science course where they’re learning engineering, coding, physics, and robotics by exploring the world of drones.
With 20 drones in the classroom, students work in teams to build skills in coding flight paths, studying flight physics, and understanding real-world applications. Guest speakers from local industries will also share how drones are used in fields like agriculture, construction, and public safety.
This exciting opportunity was made possible through the generosity of the Mecosta County Community Foundation and the Touchstone Energy Classroom STEAM Grant from Tri-County HomeWorks. Thank you for bringing Drones to CHHS!

A huge thank you to Ty Jose and the McGuire family for donating two brand-new microwaves for our high school cafeteria! Thanks to their generosity, students can warm up their lunches during the school day—and our Warriors are already putting them to good use.
It’s a true example of “see a need, fill a need”—and the kind of community spirit that makes Warrior Nation so special. ❤️💙

We’re excited to introduce Rachel Dale, our new Mental Health Professional at Chippewa Hills High School and Mosaic School! Rachel started her career as a music teacher and later earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health from Central Michigan University. Inspired by the counselors who helped her own children, she’s thrilled to bring that same guidance and support to our students.
When she’s not at school, Rachel enjoys the outdoors, lives on a hobby farm in Mt. Pleasant, and spends plenty of time cheering on her six children at their sporting events.
We’re so glad to have Rachel join the Warrior family—welcome, Rachel! ❤️💙

This November, Chippewa Hills voters will decide on a bond proposal that addresses some of our district’s most pressing needs. With nearly 1,800 students learning in buildings that range from modern spaces to schools built in the 1930s, it’s time to ensure our facilities reflect the needs of today’s learners and tomorrow’s opportunities.
The bond proposal focuses on three key areas:
✅ Safety & Security – Updated entrances, secure learning spaces, and improved emergency systems.
✅ Facility Upgrades – Repairing and modernizing aging buildings to provide safe, reliable learning spaces.
✅ Community Space – Expanding gym space so students don’t have to practice late into the evening, while also creating facilities the whole community can use.
This is a responsible investment in our children, our schools, and the future of Chippewa Hills—without raising the current tax rate. The proposal maintains the levy at 2.41 mills, one of the lowest rates in the area.
📅 Election Day is November 4.

Last week we shared that all students would receive free breakfast and lunch for the full school year. We’ve since learned that this funding is currently only guaranteed through September 30, 2025.
Until then, every Warrior will enjoy free breakfast and lunch at school. After September 30, the state legislature will determine whether funding for meals will continue.
To prepare for any outcome, we strongly urge families to complete and return the Child Nutrition and Benefits Application (linked on our website here: https://aptg.co/z4Xjx_). This helps determine if your child qualifies for free or reduced-price meals and also provides important support for school funding.
Families are also encouraged to contact their legislators and share how important this program is for students.
Thank you for your understanding as we work to keep you updated with the most accurate information.

Does your student know what it means to be a Warrior?
At Chippewa Hills, WARRIORS stands for:
✨ We
✨ Are
✨ Ready
✨ Respectful
✨ Interdependent
✨ Organized
✨ Responsible
✨ Students and Staff
Your students will hear it throughout the year—so ask them if they know what it means to be a Warrior! 💪
