Another reminder!

Our first Activity Afternoon for 5th and 6th graders is scheduled for tomorrow! Remember, an Activity Afternoon is an after-school event, from 3:00 - 5:00, where students will be able to dance in the cafeteria, play in the gym, buy concessions, and more! We split these events into 5th/6th graders together and 7th/8th graders together, and the cost is $5 to get in the door. Money raised at these events goes back to the students to pay for things like field trips, concession items, behavior rewards, etc. If your child stays for an Activity Afternoon, please make sure they have transportation planned to pick them up at 5:00 PM.

**Special note! Pizza will be available for $2 per slice. Everything else (pop, Gatorade, candy, chips) will be $1.

Reminder! Students should have brought home the permission slip for the Hoops for Hunger trip this week. I will also attach a copy to this announcement. If your student will need a school-provided lunch, we need your permission slip back by tomorrow, Friday, October 23rd, so our food service team can place their order. If your student forgot their permission slip, but you know they will need a school-provided lunch for the trip, you can send me an email at smuscott@chsd.us, and I will add them to our lunch order.

Good Morning!

Students should bring home the permission slip for Hoops for Hunger today.

While Hoops for Hunger is a fun experience and many students love it, it is also not for everyone. It is very loud, there are a lot of people, and the lines for concessions are VERY long. If your student would rather not attend the Hoops for Hunger trip, they are welcome to stay back at school. We will have some fall activities planned, and the Starlab experience will be here (check out starlab.com for more info)! If your child would like to stay at school, please email me to let me know.

Just a reminder that tomorrow is our last Hats for Hoops day and our last fundraiser for Hoops for Hunger. Students can bring $1 to wear a hat tomorrow to help put our total donation over the top!

We have Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduled for today from 3:30-6:30 PM. Here are a few things to note:

- Conferences are held in an open-house style. There are no scheduled appointments.
- Parents should plan to meet with each teacher for a quick 5 minute conversation about their student's progress. If you know you will need more time with teachers, please email them directly or connect with them on Rooms with your questions or to set up a phone call or in-person meeting. There are historically long lines at parent-teacher conferences (especially for 5th grade teachers), so please heed this advice if you know you will need more time.
- Parents, please park in the gym parking lot and enter through the gym entrance.
- There will be sign-in sheets laid out as you enter the building. Please be sure to sign in! If you have more than one middle school student, please be sure to sign in for each child on the correct grade-level sheets.
- There will also be a building map and a list of teacher locations available.

Heads up! Tomorrow is Count Day, so attendance will look a little different in Skyward.

Hi Everyone! We are excited to see you at our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Open House tonight from 5:30-7:30. We can use the gym parking lot and entrance to help with the parking congestion out front. So feel free to park in the gym parking lot and use that entrance tonight. Once in the building by the gym, you will need to head toward the middle school office and pick up your student's packet at the designated grade-level table. See you soon!
