Chippewa Hills Middle School

We are excited to announce that, although we were unable to attend yesterday, Chippewa Hills Middle School won the Food Drive contest out of 17 local schools for CMU's Hoops for Hunger event! Our students and community raised the most food and monetary donations and proudly brought home the trophy.

A huge thank you to our National Junior Honor Society for organizing our Hats for Hoops days, leading the food drive, and running the Hot Cocoa Bar at the Canadian Lakes Castle Night of Lights. We are also incredibly grateful to our community for your generosity and continued support!

Way to go, Warriors!

Chippewa Hills Schools will be under a 3-hour delay today, January 8. The Little Warriors program will open at their usual hours. All other school operations and transportation will begin 3 hours later than usual.

All games and practices today are canceled.

Hoops for Hunger update! If you can provide your own transportation, all children ages 12 and under will get into the game for free. Anyone over the age of 12 will be $5 per ticket. I asked about our students who are older than 12, and they said they cannot get in for free because “it is illegal in the NCAA because they are technically a ‘recruiting’ age.” All children must have adult supervision at the game and may not be dropped off to attend alone. The game is at McGuirk Arena and starts at 11:00 AM.

Students should have received the permission slip yesterday during Homeroom for our Hoops for Hunger trip taking place on Wednesday, January 7th. A few teachers were absent, so those students will receive it today. Please sign and have your student return it to their homeroom teacher as soon as possible.

Fundraiser items were delivered to the school at the very end of the day today, and we are working on getting it all organized! Items may be picked up from the office anytime between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM tomorrow or Friday. If you have questions, please call the office at (989) 967-2200.

I will make another announcement once it is here, and you can make arrangements to pick up larger orders from the school. We hope you enjoyed your snow day, Warriors! Just a reminder that we are scheduled to take the Math NWEA tomorrow. Get a good night’s sleep and be ready to do your best! Also, we are going to reschedule our Hats for Hoops day that was supposed to be today for Friday, December 12th. Students can bring $1 and wear a hat for the day. The $1 also gets students an entry to be a VIP for the Hoops for Hunger trip next month! If you don’t want to wear a hat, you can still bring $1 if you want an entry to be a VIP! All proceeds will go towards our donation to the Food Pantry organized by CMU and their Hoops for Hunger event!
