Nearly 100 years old, Mecosta Elementary has served generations of Warriors — but the building needs important upgrades to keep students safe, warm, and learning.
In this video, Principal Amanda Trecy shares the critical infrastructure needs the upcoming bond proposal would address at Mecosta, including updated security and improvements to essential systems like water, heat, and the building’s septic system.
These upgrades ensure Mecosta Elementary continues to be a safe, reliable place for our youngest Warriors to grow. 💙❤️

🏫 What’s Happening with the Remus Building? 🏫
One of the most common questions we’ve heard is: “What’s happening with the Remus building?”
Back in March, we had to close the Remus building due to water and mold issues in the basement, making the building unsafe for use.
At that time, our Mosaic students transitioned to online learning. They’ve been doing wonderfully virtually, but our goal has always been to bring them back into the classroom. We are working on a new dedicated space for Mosaic students within the Middle School complex and anticipate welcoming them back to in-person learning after the winter break in January.
So, what’s next for the Remus building? The truth is, we don’t fully know yet. We’ve been in ongoing discussions with Wheatland Township to explore options, including the possibility of redeveloping the site to serve the community.
We are also working to salvage the gym portion of the building, if possible. These decisions are complex and will take time, so we don’t expect anything to be finalized until after Election Day.
We appreciate your patience as we continue these conversations and will share updates as soon as more information is available.

Hosted by our High School Student Council, this beloved community tradition is back on Saturday, October 25 from 4–6 PM!
Bring the whole family for an evening of trick-or-treating through the decorated hallways of the high school, play games, and enjoy a safe, family-friendly Halloween celebration.
And for those seeking a little more thrill… don’t miss our popular Haunted House Walk! 💀
This free event is open to all children in our community — we can’t wait to see your costumes and celebrate another spooktacular Halloween together! 🧡🦇
