📚 Mecosta Elementary’s Read-a-thon: A Page-Turning Adventure! 📚 On Friday, Mecosta Elementary took our Warriors on a series of adventures for their annual Read-a-thon! Classrooms were transformed into cozy reading spaces so students could embark on reading adventures all day long! Activities included mystery readers, buddy reading, literature games, big sibling reading, flashlight reading and more! March is Reading Month is all about celebrating the power of books, and what better way than with a school-wide reading adventure?!

The Mecosta County Youth Advisory Council (MCYAC) is teaming up with B-Dubs to support The Barryton Area Mobile Food Pantry. ✨ Reading is Magic at Chippewa Hills Middle School! ✨ Our Middle School is casting a spell for March is Reading Month with a magical Harry Potter-themed adventure! Welcome to the Reading is Magic: House Cup Reading Challenge, where each grade is sorted into a Hogwarts House. Students earn House Points by reading every day, and the House with the most points at the end of the month will win the coveted House Cup! 🏆 Throughout the month, students are immersed in fun, magical activities and themed days, all leading up to the epic Triwizard Tournament in a House versus House showdown! Yesterday, students celebrated Polyjuice Potion Day, dressing up as twins to honor the potion’s magical effects. The highlight of the day was potions tasting during lunch, where students sampled Polyjuice potion, butterbeer, and pumpkin juice! It was an enchanted day filled with fun and flavor! 📖 Help us spread the magic of reading! We’re collecting new and gently-used books to fill our Middle School library with magical reads for students to enjoy. Donations will be acknowledged with a special sticker inside the book to honor your generosity! From automotive technology to construction trades, culinary arts to allied health, and so much more—students got hands-on experience and a glimpse into the many career pathways available.
