The Chippewa Hills School District Board of Education is beginning the process of hiring a new superintendent. The board is soliciting community and staff input on the qualities, experiences, and skills needed in the new superintendent. Residents of the District, all staff and administration are encouraged to participate in the process.
The board is being assisted in its search by the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), a service organization that supports the work of school boards throughout Michigan. Mark Palmer is facilitating the search on behalf of MASB.
Mark will be holding meetings in the District to give the community and staff an opportunity for input. Parents and community members are invited to share their perspectives at a meeting on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:00 PM in the High School Media Center.
Input may also be shared via an online survey, available at this URL: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/chsuptsearch
The survey is being administered by the MASB Executive Search team on behalf of the District and takes about ten minutes to complete. Anonymous individual responses will be combined with those from the face-to-face meetings with stakeholders to provide important community input to the Chippewa Hills Board of Education as it seeks to identify the best candidate for the position.

Day 2 of Teacher Appreciation Week! We Cereal-sly appreciate our teachers at CHMS! Student Council and Honor Society members also passed out some snacks and drinks this afternoon!

Today was the start of Teacher Appreciation Week! At CHMS, we appreciate our teachers very much! To show some of our appreciation, the Middle School Honor Society and Student Council organized, stocked, and decorated the teacher's lounge! They did an AWESOME job! Mrs. Muscott and Mrs. Trecy also surprised them with some yummy donuts!

It’s National Teacher Appreciation Week!
Our Chippewa Hills teachers go above and beyond the call of duty every day to build brighter futures for our Warriors. Let’s shower them with our thanks and encouragement this week!
Please reach out to your favorite teacher or a teacher who has had a positive impact in your child’s life and let them know how much you appreciate all they do!

Today our Middle School Honor Society and Student Council students are doing their part to be good stewards of our environment by helping to clean up the grounds at the Middle School and High School. Every little bit helps!

Congratulations to our Middle School Principal, Sarah Muscott, who earned the Administrator Award at the MOISD Parent Advisory Committee’s annual Make a Difference Awards! These awards recognize individuals within our community who have made a meaningful and positive impact by contributing to the education and success of students with disabilities.
Sarah earned this award for helping to implement the Peer to Peer Program at Chippewa Hills Middle School. Peer to Peer is a school-wide program designed to increase academic, independence, and social engagement opportunities for students with autism and other disabilities. Sarah is invested in making her building feel inclusive and supported the implementation of the Special Olympics Unified Champion School program at CHMS.
Congratulations Sarah and thank you for all you do to Make a Difference for our students every day!

Our Middle School Spring Band Concert is next week! Join us on Tuesday, April 23 at 7PM in the Middle School Gym for this special end-of year performance! Our Middle School musicians have grown so much this year!

On Friday, May 10 Chippewa Hills is hosting the CSAA Conference Track & Field Championships as well as home Varsity Baseball and Softball games. In an effort to accommodate these large events and keep everyone in a safe environment, May 10 will now be a half day of school as we try to reduce traffic and congestion at the secondary site. This date will run like any other half day schedule with the High School and Middle School being dismissed at 12:00 PM and Elementary Schools dismissed at 12:15 PM. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

Our 8th graders will be taking the PSAT test tomorrow!
The PSAT, or Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test, is a slightly shorter and easier version of the SAT that students take their junior year in preparation for college. The PSAT acts as a baseline for college readiness and allows teachers to check-in on student progress.
The PSAT is a long test for our students. Please help your child to prepare by making sure they get enough sleep tonight and eat breakfast in the morning. Nobody tests well when they’re tired or hungry! Free breakfast is available in the cafeteria if your child would prefer to eat when they get to school.
Good luck, 8th graders!

Our Middle Schoolers had a blast learning about the FFA Program during yesterday’s Ag Olympics! This was a fun grade-level competition featuring agriculture-themed games, like farmer racing, pig wrangling, barrel racing, and more! Students learned about the High School FFA Program and 8th graders were encouraged to sign up for next year.
