The Chippewa Hills School District Board of Education is beginning the process of hiring a new superintendent. The board is soliciting community and staff input on the qualities, experiences, and skills needed in the new superintendent. Residents of the District, all staff and administration are encouraged to participate in the process. The board is being assisted in its search by the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), a service organization that supports the work of school boards throughout Michigan. Mark Palmer is facilitating the search on behalf of MASB. Mark will be holding meetings in the District to give the community and staff an opportunity for input. Parents and community members are invited to share their perspectives at a meeting on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:00 PM in the High School Media Center. Meet our final candidates for 2024 Prom King and Queen, Ross Kelsey and Chloe Steiner! Ross Kelsey is a senior from Blanchard. He’s an active member of the Warrior Football team, National Honor Society, Pony Creek 4-H club, Michigan Junior Holstein Association, and the Isabella County Fair Rules Committee. After he graduates high school, Ross plans to attend Michigan State University for a degree in Agribusiness Management. Chloe Steiner is a senior from Mecosta who is very active in 4-H doing livestock shows, dairy judging, and community service. After she graduates high school, Cloe will be attending Michigan State University where she plans to major in Animal Science with a dairy concentration, and a minor in Agribusiness. After college, she intends to become a dairy nutritionist working with the dairy nutrition consulting firm, Progressive Dairy Solutions. Good luck to our entire Prom Court! Prom King and Queen will be announced Saturday evening at Prom!

Meet Robert Kelley and Brynn Shaw, two of our 2024 Prom King and Queen Candidates! Robert Kelley is a senior who is originally from Grand Ledge. He enjoys trapshooting, hanging out with friends, going for drives, and spending time outdoors, especially on the water. He plans to attend Northwood University this fall to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in International Business. He also plans to spend time studying abroad while in college. Brynn Shaw is a senior from Remus. She’s been an active member of the Warrior Volleyball and Softball teams, and is currently the Student Council Secretary and Yearbook Editor. After high school, Brynn plans to serve her country with the U.S. Army National Guard and attend Ferris State University for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. The 2024 Prom King and Queen will be crowned at Prom on Saturday evening!

Meet two of our 2024 Prom King and Queen Candidates, Bradon Haywood and Reece Clark! Bradon Haywood is a senior from Mecosta. He’s an active member of the Track & Field team where he competes in the sprints for the Warriors. After high school graduation, Braden plans to attend Central Michigan University to pursue a degree in Business Administration. Reece Clark is a senior from Weidman who’s been a 4-year Varsity athlete for the Warrior Cross Country and Track & Field teams. She’s also a Senior Class officer and the Public Relations Officer for National Honor Society. She loves to hang out with her family and friends, go fishing, and overall enjoys helping people. Reece Plans to attend Central Michigan University this fall where she will major in Biology. From there, she plans to enroll in CMU’s Physician Assistant program. Voting for the 2024 Prom King and Queen is taking place this week and the winners will be crowned at Prom on Saturday!

On Friday, May 10 Chippewa Hills is hosting the CSAA Conference Track & Field Championships as well as home Varsity Baseball and Softball games. In an effort to accommodate these large events and keep everyone in a safe environment, May 10 will now be a half day of school as we try to reduce traffic and congestion at the secondary site. This date will run like any other half day schedule with the High School and Middle School being dismissed at 12:00 PM and Elementary Schools dismissed at 12:15 PM. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
