🔧 Exploring Future Careers! 🔧
On Tuesday, our 8th grade students visited the Mecosta Osceola Career Center to get a firsthand look at the many career pathways available for them to study in high school and beyond.
Students toured 17 different programs and participated in hands-on demonstrations that showcased everything from skilled trades and healthcare to technology and creative fields.
It was a great opportunity for our students to start thinking about their interests and discover new possibilities.
Thank you to the staff at MOCC for welcoming our Warriors and providing such an engaging experience! ❤️💙

Congratulations to 8th grader Evelyn Young, who earned Silver in the FFA Creed competition at last week’s FFA State Convention in Lansing!
The Creed competition challenges students to speak about the values and traditions of agriculture and FFA leadership. Earning Silver at the state level as an 8th grader is an incredible accomplishment.
We’re so proud of Evelyn and excited to watch her continued growth as part of the Chippewa Hills FFA program.
Great work, Evelyn! 💙❤️

Today we recognize the Chippewa Hills maintenance team for the work they do every day across our district.
Much of their work happens behind the scenes, but it plays an important role in making sure our schools and grounds are always for students, staff, and the many activities that bring our community together.
Thank you to Jim, Brian, Eric, and Carter for the time, effort, and pride you bring to your work at Chippewa Hills. We appreciate everything you do for our schools! 💙❤️

Our Chippewa Hills Kindergarten Round-Up is on Monday, March 9 at all three of our elementary buildings! If your child will be starting kindergarten this fall, now is the time to call and reserve your Round-Up appointment.
Please note: Appointments are required to attend. Completing the enrollment form alone does not schedule your child. Families must call their elementary school to secure a time.
Call today to reserve your spot:
• Barryton Elementary: 989-382-5311
• Mecosta Elementary: 231-972-7477
• Weidman Elementary: 989-644-3430

We’re excited to welcome the Class of 2039 to Chippewa Hills! ❤️💙

The Creed competition challenges students to memorize and passionately present the FFA Creed, while also answering questions about its meaning and the values behind it — leadership, growth, hard work, and belief in agriculture.
Representing Chippewa Hills on the state stage as an 8th grader is no small feat. We’re so proud of you, Evelyn! Go show them what a Warrior can do! ❤️💙

On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, Chippewa Hills School District voters will consider a bond proposal addressing key facility needs across the district — without increasing the current tax rate.
The proposal would maintain the existing millage rate, resulting in a zero mill increase from the current levy.
The bond focuses on three priority areas:
✅ Safety & Security: Updated entrances, secure learning spaces, and improved emergency systems.
✅ Facility Upgrades: Repairing and modernizing aging buildings and classrooms to maintain safe, reliable learning environments.
✅ Multipurpose Space: Athletic, academic, and activity space enhancements to support classes, student programs, and community use.
We invite community members to attend an upcoming Bond Town Hall to learn more, review details, and ask questions.
- Tuesday, March 10: 6:30 PM at Barryton Elementary
- Tuesday, Marcy 17: 6:30 PM at Mecosta Elementary
- Tuesday, March 24: 6:30 PM at Weidman Elementary
- Monday, April 13: 7:30 PM at Chippewa Hills High School

At Chippewa Hills, we know that a great day of learning starts with a healthy breakfast. That’s why breakfast is available FREE to all students in every building from 7:30–8:00 AM each school day!
Join us in celebrating the importance of breakfast and our amazing Food Service team who make it happen every morning! ❤️💙

Before we talk about academics, careers, or test scores… think about this:
✔ Can a student work through a disagreement with a classmate?
✔ Can they manage frustration when something feels hard?
✔ Can they speak up, ask for help, and communicate clearly?
✔ Can they solve problems and work as part of a team?
These are not “extra” skills. They are life skills.
That’s what SEL — Social and Emotional Learning — is all about.
SEL helps students build:
• Self-awareness
• Emotional regulation
• Healthy relationship skills
• Responsible decision-making
• Problem-solving and communication skills
And here’s why it matters beyond school:
Employers consistently say that skills like teamwork, adaptability, communication, and critical thinking are just as important — and often more important — than technical knowledge alone.
When we invest in SEL, we’re not just supporting better classrooms. We’re preparing students to thrive in careers, relationships, and communities.
At Chippewa Hills, we believe educating the whole child matters. Academics are essential, and so are the skills that help students navigate life with confidence and resilience.
On SEL Day, we celebrate the growth we see every day in our Warriors — not just in what they know, but in who they are becoming. ❤️💙

Our students fully immersed themselves in leadership workshops, collaborative sessions, and networking opportunities with peers from schools across Michigan. They also heard from three inspiring keynote speakers, and represented our district with attentiveness, reflection, and a genuine eagerness to grow.
This group is excited to bring back fresh ideas, new energy, and innovative strategies as we continue strengthening our school culture and community together. The future of Chippewa Hills is bright, and it’s being led by an incredible group of students!

Our latest newsletter is packed with updates and celebrations from across the district, spring event information, and a look at key initiatives and upcoming community events.

Ag Teacher Appreciation Day recognizes agricultural educators and FFA advisors for their mentorship, guidance, and dedication to shaping the next generation of agriculture leaders — and Ms. Spry does exactly that every single day.
Through her leadership, our FFA members gain more than knowledge about agriculture. They build confidence. They develop leadership skills. They learn responsibility, teamwork, and what it means to serve their community.
Her commitment, patience, and passion for students make a lasting impact that extends far beyond the classroom.
Thank you, Ms. Spry, for investing your time, heart, and energy into our Warriors. We are grateful for you today and every day! ❤️💙
